What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?
By Dr. Priyanka Mangla Aggarwal (@RozKiSehat)
🌙 The ‘New Normal’ That Wasn’t So Normal
Like many others, I found myself drifting into what the world had normalised —
👉 Late-night movies
👉 Binge-watching OTT series
👉 11 PM snacks that turned into midnight meals
Yes, the so-called “New Generation Lifestyle.”
At first, it felt harmless — after all, everyone’s doing it, right? But deep down, my mind always said , “This isn’t sustainable. This isn’t healthy.”
🩺 The Irony I Couldn’t Ignore
Every day in my clinic and on social media, I passionately guide others:“Stick to a routine.”
“Follow your body clock.”
“Respect your health.”
I could clearly see that 90% of lifestyle disorders — from hormonal imbalances to digestion issues — stem from erratic routines.
And yet, I wasn’t following the very routine I was recommending. It hit me hard: “Am I not practising what I preach?”
✨ The Turning Point
I asked myself a simple but powerful question:
“If I don’t value my own health, how can I inspire others to value theirs?”
That day, I made a commitment:
➡️ No more self-sabotage
➡️ No more late nights
➡️ No more justifications
Because I am the motivator — and no one else is going to show up to push me.If I want to be the torchbearer of health for my patients and followers, I must walk the path myself.
🌅 My New Routine: Back to the Basics
📌 Early to bed. Early to rise.
📌 Cutting screen time post-dinner
📌 Hydrating mindfully and eating on time
📌 Replacing night munching with herbal tea or silence
This shift didn’t just improve my health — it reconnected me to a deeper sense of integrity and purpose.
💬 Conclusion: Be Your Own Role Model
In a world full of distractions and temporary dopamine hits, building a mindful lifestyle is an act of courage. If you’re guiding others — whether as a doctor, a teacher, a mother, or a mentor — remember: your life speaks louder than your words.
🌻 Start with one habit.
🌻 Keep it simple, but consistent.
🌻 Don’t aim for perfection — aim for alignment.
You owe it to yourself to live the way you ask others to live. And once you do, the transformation — in you and around you — is inevitable.
