What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?
By Dr. Priyanka Mangla Aggarwal (@RozKiSehat)
đ The âNew Normalâ That Wasnât So Normal
Like many others, I found myself drifting into what the world had normalised â
đ Late-night movies
đ Binge-watching OTT series
đ 11 PM snacks that turned into midnight meals
Yes, the so-called “New Generation Lifestyle.”
At first, it felt harmless â after all, everyoneâs doing it, right? But deep down, my mind always said , âThis isnât sustainable. This isnât healthy.â
𩺠The Irony I Couldnât Ignore
Every day in my clinic and on social media, I passionately guide others:âStick to a routine.â
âFollow your body clock.â
âRespect your health.â
I could clearly see that 90% of lifestyle disorders â from hormonal imbalances to digestion issues â stem from erratic routines.
And yet, I wasnât following the very routine I was recommending. It hit me hard: âAm I not practising what I preach?â
⨠The Turning Point
I asked myself a simple but powerful question:
âIf I don’t value my own health, how can I inspire others to value theirs?â
That day, I made a commitment:
âĄď¸ No more self-sabotage
âĄď¸ No more late nights
âĄď¸ No more justifications
Because I am the motivator â and no one else is going to show up to push me.If I want to be the torchbearer of health for my patients and followers, I must walk the path myself.
đ My New Routine: Back to the Basics
đ Early to bed. Early to rise.
đ Cutting screen time post-dinner
đ Hydrating mindfully and eating on time
đ Replacing night munching with herbal tea or silence
This shift didnât just improve my health â it reconnected me to a deeper sense of integrity and purpose.
đŹ Conclusion: Be Your Own Role Model
In a world full of distractions and temporary dopamine hits, building a mindful lifestyle is an act of courage. If youâre guiding others â whether as a doctor, a teacher, a mother, or a mentor â remember: your life speaks louder than your words.
đť Start with one habit.
đť Keep it simple, but consistent.
đť Donât aim for perfection â aim for alignment.
You owe it to yourself to live the way you ask others to live. And once you do, the transformation â in you and around you â is inevitable.
