What is your favorite restaurant?

For me, the answer is simple:
None.

Because every other day, there’s a fresh headline that makes me lose faith in restaurant food — no matter how fancy or famous the brand is.

Let me give you a couple of real-life examples that shook me:

The Haldiram Samosa Incident

You may have heard about the viral case where a customer found a human tooth inside a samosa from Haldiram’s — yes, Haldiram, one of the most popular and “trusted” snack brands in India.
Imagine biting into your favorite snack only to be met with that. Gross is an understatement.

McDonald’s and the “Pink Slime” Debate

McDonald’s, too, has had its fair share of controversies. Their meat processing methods have been under scrutiny, especially after it was revealed that their beef patties were treated with ammonia — a process dubbed “pink slime.”

And let’s not forget the fries that seem innocent but contain more than 15 ingredients, including dimethylpolysiloxane — a chemical also used in silly putty and cosmetics.

It’s Not Just About Taste Anymore

The problem isn’t the flavor or the ambiance — it’s trust, hygiene, and accountability.

We live in an age where food looks amazing on Instagram, but behind the scenes, questionable practices are often hidden under glossy surfaces.

Home-Cooked Food Wins, Every Time

Until there’s a bigger push for transparency in the food industry, I’m keeping my loyalty with the kitchen at home — where I know exactly what’s going into my plate (and what definitely isn’t).
